Schälen is a series of ceramic works conceived as detached surfaces: shells, layers, or remnants of a body that no longer contains what it once covered. The title comes from German and refers to the action of peeling, a gesture that implies separation, the removal of an outer layer, and the exposure of what was previously protected. This notion of peeling operates as a conceptual framework for the collection, understood as an ongoing process rather than a fixed result.
